Powervation brings on board new investor and wins award

Powervation, which creates innovative system-on-chip solutions for energy control and management in IT systems, has secured funding from a new US-based investor Braemar Energy Ventures.

The funds will be used to support the company’s expansion as it continues to make inroads into the growing market for digital power controllers. The company, which has bases in Ireland, California and Taiwan, has won a series of design wins for its first digital power conversion IC product - the PV3002 which is used in a range of complex electronic systems.

Powervation was also named as ‘Start-up of the Year’ for 2009 by the National Microelectronics Institute, which cited its success in attracting capital from global tier one venture firms including SEP which participated in a $10 million round for Powervation in July
