Scottish Equity Partners is pleased to announce the sale of portfolio company Zeus Technology, the Cambridge based developer of software-based load balancing and web traffic management solutions, to Riverbed Technology Inc of San Francisco for a consideration of up to $140 million.

SEP first invested in Zeus in 2005 and since then has been actively involved in support of its successful growth strategy. SEP owned 34% of the company’s equity at the time of exit.

Zeus’s technology, which is available as a service on leading cloud platforms, powers the web presence of key brands across the world including, Amazon, Gilt Group, Rackspace, Joyent, BBC, ITV, PLAY.COM, PKR.com, Domino’s Pizza and Virgin Media.
