Activity: Aerial inspection and survey using advanced remotely operated aerial vehicles. Inspections of a wide variety of structures including live flare towers, chimney stacks, cooling towers, wind turbines and electricity pylons.
Key advantage: Significant safety, cost and downtime advantages through replacement of rope or helicopter access.
Milestones: Completed the world’s first live gas flare inspection at a Scottish oil and gas refinery, chimney and flare inspections in Germany and the Middle East. Signed a 3 year inspection services agreement with SSE. Shortlisted for Energy North Award 2011.
