Cyclacel

Cyclacel focused on the discovery, development and commercialisation of small molecule drugs targeted at controlling various points in the cell cycle, primarily within oncology. The company was founded on the work of Prof Sir David Lane, a distinguished scientist credited with the discovery of the tumour suppressor gene p53. The company raised significant finance as it grew and SEP remained a patient and supportive investor through to Cyclacel’s Nasdaq listing following the reverse takeover of Xcyte Therapies Inc. in March 2006.
