Voxar, a developer of sophisticated 3D medical imaging software, was sold to Barco of Belgium in 2004. Voxar was founded as a spin out from the University of Edinburgh. The company achieved rapid growth and market penetration with its software which enables medical data to be visualised in 3D formats, allowing medical experts to view images from CT, MRI, PET and ultrasound scans. SEP enjoyed a good relationship with management and consistently supported the company, funding its growth through to exit.
