SEP launches 2025 Sustainability report

As SEP marks 25 years of investing in growth companies, our focus remains on the principles that drive lasting success: strong governance, engaged teams, and a clear sense of responsibility.
This year’s Sustainability report highlights how those principles continue to shape progress across our portfolio, with a number of case studies designed to advance shared learning. One highlight features Cresset, a UK-based drug discovery and design software developer, which has embedded governance and privacy into its AI strategy while reducing compute intensity and accelerating decision-making. It is a clear example of how AI can be harnessed responsibly to improve efficiency, launch new products, and transform internal operations — while safeguarding against risks such as bias, privacy, and security.
Climate remains a priority. This year saw the portfolio’s first science-based target set, alongside more businesses measuring their emissions for the first time. Progress on culture is also clear, with nearly all companies now monitoring employee engagement and satisfaction, and a growing number reporting their gender pay gap to increase transparency around representation and pay.
We have refined our own approach as well — embedding sustainability into new investments from the outset, providing specific recommendations through our Sustainable Growth Framework, and supporting measurement and planning through tools such as Carbon Navigator. Initiatives like the Women in Tech Leadership Network and portfolio peer connections are also creating more opportunities for shared learning.
Our aim is simple: to help exceptional companies grow responsibly and create lasting value.
