Dealmaker of the Year Award for SEP

Calum Paterson, Managing Partner, and the team at Scottish Equity Partners, were announced Dealmaker of the Year at the Scottish Business Insider Deals & Dealmakers Awards 2017.

SEP backs the best high growth technology companies across the UK and beyond, and the award was presented in recognition of the firm’s success in raising SEP V, a new £260 million fund and for the part SEP played in the phenomenal growth of travel search business Skyscanner which was sold to Ctrip for £1.4 billion in December 2016.

Sponsored by Marsh, Dealmaker of the Year is one of the most prestigious individual business awards in Scotland.

Receiving the award Calum said: ‘This has been an incredible 12 months for SEP. SEP V ranks as one of the largest funds raised in Europe over the last year. In addition, Skyscanner’s acquisition by Ctrip was one of the largest VC backed exits in Europe ever.’

He continued: ‘We have the privilege of working with ambitious and inspirational management teams across the country, funding and fuelling their growth. This award from Scottish Business Insider reflects well not only on the efforts of the SEP team but also on the entrepreneurs, management teams and employees within our portfolio companies.’
