SEP provides Covid-19 support funding to Scottish charities

Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) has donated £100,000 to a range of charities providing vital services to local communities across Scotland during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Charities benefiting from the funding address a number of issues including homelessness, hunger, poverty, mental health, domestic abuse and community development as well as supporting young people and the elderly.

SEP was assisted by venture philanthropy organisation Inspiring Scotland in identifying charities who are dealing with the economic fallout in local communities in Scotland, particularly on those who are most vulnerable. Inspiring Scotland is currently operating an advice hotline for charities across Scotland and through its thematic funds is well connected with charities undertaking invaluable local and regional responses to the coronavirus crisis.

SEP recognises the significant strain that the Covid-19 crisis is having across society, and in the wider economy, and is encouraging its portfolio companies to focus on all their stakeholders including in particular their employees and the local communities in which they are based.
