SEP shortlisted for Unquote BPE awards
SEP is delighted to have been shortlisted for this year’s prestigious Unquote British Private Equity Awards for Venture and Growth Capital Exit of the Year. SEP has been nominated for the sale of Indigo Pipelines to Arjun Infrastructure Partners (AIP).
Voting is open until 5pm on Friday 13 September and results will be considered alongside the decisions of the Judging Panel. Instructions on how to vote, along with supporting statements from all nominees outlining their achievements over the judging period, can be found here. The winners will be announced at the Awards Dinner in London on 1 October.
Indigo is an Ofgem regulated Independent Gas Transporter business operating in the UK utilities infrastructure market. The company owns ‘last mile’ gas pipe connections to over 180,000 residential and commercial developments across the country. SEP acquired the business from SSE plc on formation of a specialist infrastructure fund, Environmental Capital Fund (ECF), in September 2014. Under SEP’s ownership, Indigo rapidly grew its network of connections to become the third largest independent gas transportation network in the UK. In November 2018, after approaches from over 20 potential acquirers, Indigo was sold to specialist infrastructure asset manager AIP and, although financial terms were not publicly disclosed, the deal generated a substantial gain, returning an impressive multiple of ECF’s invested capital.
The Unquote BPE awards are designed to showcase innovation, resilience and excellence within the UK private equity industry. SEP has been a previous winner in both the ‘Venture and Growth Capital House of the Year’ and ‘Venture and Growth Capital Exit of the Year’ categories.
