Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) has demonstrated its commitment to advancing female entrepreneurship by signing the Investing in Women Code.  Signatories undertake to adopt internal practices aimed at giving female entrepreneurs improved access to the tools, resources and finance they need to grow their businesses.

SEP will work alongside other signatories, the British Business Bank and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to support diversity in access to finance across the UK and will submit diversity data annually. Catherine Simpson, SEP’s Chief Operating Officer will have responsibility for supporting equality in SEP’s interactions with female entrepreneurs and for progressing the firm’s commitments under the Code.

In 2021 SEP launched its own Women in Tech Leadership Network to connect the inspirational women across its portfolio companies and support them to achieve their ambitions. The group brings together women with a range of backgrounds and experiences from across the European technology landscape, facilitating key introductions across functional areas, sharing inspiring profiles and hosting events to share insights and discuss topics of interest.

The Investing in Women Code complements the Women in Finance Charter, to which SEP has been a signatory since 2018.
