SEP backed fintech TotallyMoney has once again been named as one of the UK’s best mid-sized companies to work for in the 2021 Best Companies list, recognised as setting the standard in workplace engagement on a national level.

TotallyMoney, which ranked 34th this year, is a credit marketplace business on a mission to improve the UK’s credit score by giving customers control of their data and helping them make smart borrowing decisions via eligibility checking, a free credit score and customer engagement model.

Alastair Douglas, CEO of TotallyMoney said: “I’m so proud that TotallyMoney has once again been chosen as one of the best companies to work for. It’s a testament to the team’s hard work, finding new and inventive ways to help our people stay engaged and thrive at a time when it would be all too easy to drift apart. TotallyMoney has always been about helping people step up and achieve their potential, and that goes for our staff just as much as our customers. That’s why being the best place to work is such a big part of our mission.”

Commenting on the impact of the pandemic he continued: “It’s never been so important to look after company culture and employee wellbeing. We recognised early that we were in this for the long haul. We haven’t let restrictions stop us socialising, giving back to the community, or investing in physical and mental wellbeing. Instead, we’ve put substantial measures in place to ensure we continue to be a unique, engaging place to work.”

More flexible working hours, Self Space therapy sessions, monthly mindfulness classes and yoga have all helped to improve wellbeing and an “amber” status on Slack has been introduced to highlight when colleagues need a little space.  There’s also been further investment in training for new starts right through to managers and all employees have been encouraged to make use of a learning budget to expand their knowledge and skill sets.  Social events have also proved a boost to morale and have helped pull the team together over a tough year.

Alastair concluded: “Making this shortlist proves that TotallyMoney continues to be a place people love to work.”
